One of the most lovely benefits of being a hypnotherapist is that every time you give a session, you also get a session!
I have been a serious nail-biter for as long as I can remember. And I do mean serious....the painful nubs, the bleeding sides of the fingers, and the loss of the dental cutting edge of my incisors. I chewed when I was happy. I chewed when I was sad. I chomped on my nails when I was angry....when I watched tv, read a book, went to the movies. I just bit my nails all the time....until I had two clients who had come to me: one for nail biting, one for skin picking (around the nails and on the fingers).
Really.....my dental cutting edge was already shot....I had no conscious intention of stopping now. Maybe it would be nice to not have such nasty looking nails when talking with other hypnotists or potential clients, but I loved biting my nails and I really didn't want to give it up. Maybe I got some serotonin rush from it, I don't know. What I DO know is that four weeks ago, I had my very first manicure!
Yup.....after working with the nailbiter and the finger skin picker, I suddenly found that I had stopped biting or picking at my nails. In the past, when my nails got to this length, I didn't know what to do. I would simply start biting and tearing at them because no one had ever shown me how to take care of them! This time, something in me went off automatically and I called the local salon for an appointment to have a manicure!
It was awesome! And not even expensive (the basic manicure was $15). I learned how to file my nails and the nice woman gave me an emery board to bring home. I've been filing ever since!
I love having nails. No more having to find tools to open flip top cans with. Being able to give myself a satisfying scratch when I need one. Heck, being able to scratch my husband's back when he needs it! This is great!
I discovered that I do a lot of filing ..... I don't like typing with longer nails and I kept nicking my nose every time I had an itch there. So now I still have shorter nails but they are neatly trimmed. No more chowing down on some mixed-bacterial soup on my fingers. ugh!
Usually, I am asking for testimonials from clients but, more and more , I find myself giving them....to my clients! They're getting great results and so am I! :--)
Posting this to Steve in Memphis (who asked about ley lines in america) and to anyone else interested in this topic.
There isn't a whole lot out there about ley lines in North America, but it's a puzzlement as to why not! I just happen to live in a place that dowsers and ley liners tell me is the major place of converging and crossing ley lines in America....Shelburne Falls, MA. What they tell me is that the precise spot is a couple of miles from me, up at the Catamount reservoir. I once did see a picture from NASA, that showed a column of light emanating from here....don't know if the photo was clean or doctored, but it was pretty eerie!
If you live in New England, you might enjoy a trip to Mystery Hill (America's Stonehenge) in New Hampshire.
Steven, here are some websites you can check out about ley lines in America. I think most of the material out there is mixed in with unconventional theories and statements, so take what you find useful and leave the rest. I have several dowsing friends who might have some more info if you are interested.
